Dingle Penninsula

Dingle is one of several peninsulas in southern Ireland. We only had time for one, so we chose Dingle. The big tour companies take people to the Iveragh Penn to drive the Ring of Kerry, but we wanted to avoid the busses, and the crowds, so we went to Dingle. We arrived too early to check in to our B&B, so we headed out to do the Slea Head drive which goes around the tip of the peninsula. The road wasn't too bad and the views are absolutely stunning. Rugged islands, beautiful beaches, turquoise waters, green fields, rock walls - exactly what I picture in my mind when I think of Ireland. We headed back to Dingle town and checked into our B&B, definitely the best we've stayed in so far. We had a huge bed, a private balcony overlooking the harbor, heated bathroom floors...it was just lovely. We attended a concert that night and really enjoyed the two men who played the second set. They were funny and joking with each other, and were really enjoyable. We were really sorry we didn't have more time in Dingle, but we had to move on.
